Funder Affiliates

The Funder Affiliate program provides a more comprehensive and candid dialogue between grantmakers and grant seekers than is usually available through the grant review process. By joining TCG, funders can gain an in-depth understanding of the issues facing the not-for-profit national theatre community, receive valuable insight into local theatre communities and craft more responsive and timely grant programs. We hope that by giving funders an inside track on the dialogue and issues concerning not-for-profit theatres today, the philanthropic relationship will become a healthier one and that our collective futures may be strengthened. In the past fiscal year eight funders participated in the program.

Individual Members

TCG membership is available to theatre professionals and the general public through subscriptions to American Theatre magazine. Individual members receive discounts on TCG books and resource materials, as well as discounts on theatre tickets from participating theatres. There are approximately 17,000 individual TCG members.

Trustee Leadership Network

Initiated by the National Council for the American Theatre, the Trustee Leadership Network provides an enhanced form of individual membership for trustees of TCG member theatres, numbering 162 trustees from theatres across the country. TCG takes a leadership role in providing services to theatre trustees and in pooling and sharing their knowledge, experience and perspectives with the broader field.   In addition to a subscription to American Theatre magazine, trustees receive email announcements with links to the monthly TCG Bulletin , which includes topical Centerpieces on theatre management and governance, and features Ben Cameron's monthly field letter. Trustees also receive discounts on all TCG book titles. Members are encouraged to attend the annual Fall Forum on Governance, an annual event that focuses on current management and governance issues.
