NEA/TCG CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

TCG administers the NEA/TCG Career Development Program for Directors and Designers under a cooperative agreement with the National Endowment for the Arts. Since 1987, directors and designers have received grants enabling them to work with mature artist-mentors, observe the work of theatre companies and undertake independent projects. Stipends of $17,500 are awarded over two years to six early-career directors and six early-career costume, set, lighting and sound designers. Program activity may include travel, research, observing and assisting. The Ford Foundation has committed additional support for future rounds of this grant program through its New Works Program.
