Grant Programs

During fiscal year 2004-2005, TCG awarded $2.7 million to theatres and theatre professionals through 10 grant making programs offered in partnership with corporate, government and foundation funders. TCG utilizes a peer-panel review process in all grant determinations, with different groups of panelists convened for each grant program. Our programs provide career development opportunities to theatre professionals, facilitate the creation of new work, sustain collaborative artistic relationships, and recognize achievement in the field. TCG seeks to nurture the next generation of theatre practitioners through grants to playwrights, directors, designers, journalists and new artistic and managing directors. Grants to theatres directly support new American premieres and foster environments in which theatre artists can collaborate, research, take risks, and develop new work. By supporting outstanding individuals and companies, TCG's grant making programs promote excellence in the American theatre.
