2012 TCG/American Express Leadership Boot Camp
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Each application was completed by a pair of Leaders (one Established and one Emerging) from a TCG Member Theatre. Both individuals had to be employed by the same TCG Member Theatre.
Established Leaders: Applicants in this category looked to improve their own leadership skills and possessed an interest in learning how to effectively nurture and educate the next generation of leadership within their own theatre and within the field at large. Established Leader applicants had to be at their current organization as either a managing or artistic leader for a minimum of two years and in an executive level position within the not-for-profit arts sector for a minimum of 10 years.
Emerging Leaders: Applicants in this category were on track to become executive leaders in the next five to ten years and wanted to expand their leadership knowledge and skills as well as uncover their experience gaps that may have prevented them from reaching their goal of becoming an executive leader. Emerging Leader applicants had to be at their current organization for a minimum of one year and must have worked in a full-time professional position within the not-for-profit arts sector for a minimum of two years. “Emerging Leader” was defined as a senior level staff member who is ready to take the next steps toward becoming an executive leader. Emerging Leaders should have demonstrated a commitment to a career in not-for-profit theatre and possess the potential for a positive impact on the theatre field.
