2012 TCG/American Express Leadership Boot Camp

Schedule

The Boot Camp began on Tuesday, March 13 at 8:30am and ended for the day at 5pm with a reception. We began again on Wednesday, March 14 at 8:30am and the program concluded at 3pm. Breakfast was provided at the hotel; lunch and breaks were provided by the Center for Creative Leadership. Participants were required to be present for the entire program.

Workshop:

A follow-up 1/2 day workshop to the National Conference was held for participants on Thursday, June 21 from 9am-12:30pm in Boston. The workshop was free and attendance was mandatory for all participants. All workshop attendees received a $300 discount on their TCG National Conference registration. Travel and lodging expenses were not covered. The workshop included breakfast, refreshments and all course material.

Expenses

To ensure that participants were equally invested in the process as we were, there was a $300 fee, per participant. As a sign of commitment from their theatres, Established Leaders were responsible for their own transportation costs to the Boot Camp and workshop in Boston. All other workshop expenses, including the transportation of Emerging Leaders to the workshop, was covered by TCG and American Express up to a set limit.

Lodging:

TCG booked and paid for Monday and Tuesday night hotel accommodations for all participants; Wednesday was by special request. Although the workshop was structured so participants would be able to depart Greensboro on Wednesday evening, March 14, TCG covered Wednesday night hotel accommodations in case of flight unavailability. No lodging costs were covered for the June workshop.

Travel Reimbursement:

TCG reimbursed up to $600 for the expense of Emerging Leaders' flights and ground transportation to and from Greensboro. (During the Boot Camp, the Center for Creative Leadership provided a free shuttle service to and from the hotel.) Car travel was reimbursed at the rate of 55.5¢ per mile. All transportation expenses above $600 was the Emerging Leaders' responsibility. All flights had to have been booked for coach class, or they were not reimbursed. TCG processed reimbursement checks once they received original receipts. No travel expenses were covered for the workshop in Boston.

National Conference Fee Reduction:

The $300 fee for the TCG/AMEX Leadership Boot Camp reduced the cost of attending the 2012 TCG National Conference in Boston.
