Registration

A registration table will be set up at the Chemical Heritage Foundation on Wednesday evening. All attendees are required to attend Wednesday evening's programming. Late registrations will not be accommodated on Thursday or Friday. To ensure continuity and a deeper level of dialogue, all participants are required to attend the Convening in its entirety.

Food and Drink

Your registration fee includes two breakfasts (Thursday and Friday), two lunches (Thursday and Friday), two receptions with light fare (Wednesday and Thursday evenings) and various coffee breaks (please see the agenda on our website). Participants with special dietary or physical requirements should email Devon Berkshire or call (212) 609-5900 x288 as soon as possible, if the requirement was not already noted on your registration form.

What to Pack

Dress for both receptions and throughout the Convening is informal. In Philadelphia, the average daily temperature in February can range anywhere from 25-45° F. We recommend that you dress in layers and watch the weather in case you need to prepare for rain or snow. Philadelphia does see snow in the winter, so if the weather calls for it, please consider bringing snow jackets and/or boots, as the Sheraton Society Hill hotel is a 5-7 minute walk from the Chemical Heritage Foundation, the only meeting site.

Transportation to Philadelphia

All attendees are expected to book their own transportation to the Convening, and TCG recommends booking as soon as possible for the best possible rates. All Convening venues in Philly are easy walking distance from each other. For those receiving subsidy assistance to attend the Convening, please review the reimbursement policies sent to you, and be sure to retain all appropriate travel documentation to submit to TCG after the Convening.

By Air:
Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is the only major airport serving the immediate Philly area. Participants are responsible for booking their own travel arrangements, but TCG advises utilizing one of the many reputable travel websites to book airfare at the best possible rate. You may want to start by checking rates at Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline or Kayak.

By Train:
Amtrak trains travel directly into Philadelphia's 30th Street Train Station (also PHL) daily on several different lines, including commuter rails which are often more affordable. Call Amtrak for schedule and rates at (800) 872-7245 or visit the Amtrak website.

By Car:
Driving directions to the hotel can be found here, and directions to the Chemical Heritage Foundation can be found here. Google Maps is also a good source for driving directions. Please note that the standard parking rate (valet only) at the Sheraton is $37/night. Those receiving subsidy assistance to attend the Convening should review TCG's reimbursement policies for parking fees.

Transportation to Hotel and Meeting Sites

From Airport:
PHL has a comprehensive guide to ground transportation listed on the airport's website, including public transit, taxi and shuttle options. Those receiving subsidy assistance to attend the Convening should review TCG's reimbursement policies for ground transportation to and from the Convening and save all applicable receipts.

From Train Station:
There is always a fast-moving taxi line in front of the Philly train station, and there are public transit options available as well.

On Foot, to Meeting Sites:
For those staying at the Sheraton, the hotel is a 5-7 minute walk to the Chemical Heritage Foundation, and walking directions can be found here.
Arden Theatre Company (location of Thursday night's reception) is a 6 minute walk from the Chemical Heritage Foundation. Walking directions can be found here.
Arden Theatre Company is also a 7 minute walk from the Sheraton Society Hill. Walking directions can be found here.
