The TCG Foundation Award recognizes a foundation that has evidenced leadership and has provided sustained national outstanding support of theatre in America.

Previous recipients in this category include the Shubert Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.

The 2006 Recipient of the TCG Foundation Award was The Wallace Foundation.

“The arts belong to everyone.” That conviction of the Wallace Foundation’s co-founder, Lila Wallace, has defined nearly two decades of the foundation’s work in the arts: supporting effective, innovative ideas and practices that bring the benefits and pleasures of the arts to more people, especially to adults and children who might never otherwise experience them.
