2010 TCG National Conference - Session Proposal Form
CONFERENCE DATES: JUNE 17-19, 2010
PROPOSAL DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 19, 2010
For over 30 years, the TCG National Conference has offered the only forum in which the national professional theatre community comes together for artistic and intellectual exchange between artistic and managing leaders and other theatre staff members, funders, artists, consultants and other theatre professionals. For a description of this year's conference theme, click here.
Within the conference, attendees meet in large plenary sessions, designed to expand our thinking and contextualize the moment in which we operate; breakout sessions, largely designed to address the immediate concerns of the field; and time for attendees to connect and form the relationships that will sustain them between conferences.
The theme for the 2010 TCG National Conference is Ideas Into Action. Last year, we defined the landscape within which we work. This year, we’re rolling up our sleeves and getting our hands dirty. We’ll tackle issues, celebrate artistry, expand ideas and inspirations into actions and accomplishments and present examples of bold new solutions. The conference programming will follow four main tracks: race and gender; arts education and training systems; the lives of artists and new ways of working, and the creative ecology within which we all work. For a more inclusive description of each track, click here.
- Completeness: A well-conceived topic with appropriate presenter(s) identified.
- Relevance: The session addresses a current or future issue/trend in the theatre field and is related to the conference theme and tracks.
- Action: Taking the conference theme to heart, breakouts should further a conversation towards a solution for an issue or idea, and/or explore ways that attendees might contribute to such a solution.
- Format: We encourage formats that engage the audience and strengthen the presentation of the session.
- Diversity: Where applicable, the presenter(s) should represent a diversity of viewpoints, cultural backgrounds, generations, professional expertise, geographic locations, budget and community sizes, etc.
