Nonprofit Finance Fund Professional Development Program

Workshops

NFF workshops offer members of TCG, Dance/USA and League of American Orchestras a wide range of services that help them stay in balance and in business. In these interactive workshops organizations of various sectors, sizes and situations learn how management and financial decisions affect their mission and health.

These half-day (approximately three hour) workshops are designed for executive directors and other senior staff and will engage participants in a discussion about how to incorporate financial goals into planning for a vibrant and viable future. Using real-life case studies, NFF will offer interactive exercises to help staff develop financial plans that consider current dynamics, underlying business models and the full cost of providing healthy artistic programming. Additional information will be available on the NFF Group website.

Strategic Financial Planning: Tools for Assessing and Addressing Risk

November 6, 2009: 1:00pm- 4:00pm

This workshop was open to attendees of the 2009 TCG Fall Forum on Governance.* It was designed for not-for-profit theatres and engaged senior staff and trustees in a discussion about the financial realities of meeting their missions during an economic crisis. Using real world examples, NFF offered interactive exercises to enhance staff's understanding of the interplay between financial risk, revenue reliability and fixed costs. We also discussed how this information can be used to make better planning and decision-making.
