About the Institute for Cultural Policy and Practice

The Institute for Cultural Policy and Practice is a Center within Innovative Programs in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences dedicated to strengthening organizational effectiveness and leadership capabilities in the arts and cultural sector.

We pursue this mission though the linking of national research and policy exploration with a sustained program of high-level participatory seminars and other programs for leaders in the field aimed at stimulating greater understanding of critical issues and to fostering innovation.

What We Do:

The Institute for Cultural Policy and Practice develops high quality leadership education and organizational development initiatives across numerous arts disciplines. Our largest program, The Orchestra Forum, forms an integral part of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation's Orchestra Program, a ten-year $30 million initiative designed to strengthen a select group of leading American symphony and chamber orchestras.
