Free Night of Theater 2009
Free Night of Theater is TCG's annual national audience development program designed to raise general awareness of, and attract new theatergoers to, America’s professional not-for-profit theatres. With the addition of Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, New York City, Salt Lake City, St. Louis and a number of smaller communities, Free Night 2008 expanded to more 650 companies and attracted over 65,000 new theatregoers from coast to coast.
As TCG continues to expand Free Night across an expanding national stage, program research demonstrates a proven track record of success in turning Free Night patrons into returning paying customers. The program also provides a unique opportunity for theatres to collaborate on a nationwide project that positively affects their visibility, increases sponsorship opportunities and provides access for new audiences to experience the joy of theatre for the first time.
Participation in the Free Night of Theater 2009 program will be limited to organizations and theatres that meet the program participation guidelines and all potential partners and theatres must agree to adhere to the 2009 participation criteria. Complete 2009 program guidelines and participation criteria are available on the TCG Free Night web pages under Guidelines.
TCG will continue to partner with APASO organizations, arts councils and other partners to produce Free Night in 2009. For more details about past Free Night campaigns, please visit the annual program Overview pages located on the left navigation bar.
Free Night of Theater 2009 will open on Thursday, October 15, 2009 - for more information on the program please visit www.freenightoftheater.net.
