Leadership U[niversity]

This new initiative prepares recipients from all areas of the theatre for greater leadership responsibilities and long-term careers in the theatre, in two areas: One-on-One for early-career leaders and Continuing Ed for mid-career or veteran professionals.

Young Leaders of Color

The Young Leaders of Color Program was created in 2006 to gather groups of young theatre professionals of color from around the US at TCG's National Conferences to engage in a dialogue about the new generation of leadership.

MetLife/TCG A-ha! Program: Think It, Do It

Think It grants ($25,000) for research and development. Do It grants ($50,000) support the implementation and testing.

Alan Schneider Director Award

Designed to identify and assist exceptional mid-career freelance directors.

NEA/TCG Career Development Program

For talented early-career directors and designers under the guidance of one or more designated mentors.

Global Connections

The new program offers funding in two different categories: On the Road, travel grants of up to $6,000 each; In the Lab, project development grants of $10,000 each. These grants support geographically unrestricted travel to foster international collaborations between US-based artists and their colleagues around the world.

New Generations Program

Grants awarded in two distinct categories: mentorships (Future Leaders) and audience development programs (Future Audiences).

Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowships

Grants awarded to support both early to mid-career and considerably experienced actors.

American Theatre Bay Area Commissioning Fund

Supported by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, this opportunity is aimed at developing in-depth professional relationships between American Theatre magazine and established theatre journalists in the San Francisco Bay Area.

NEA/TCG Residency Program for Playwrights

This program has been sunset and no future rounds will be offered.

AT&T: OnStage

The AT&T: OnStage program is currently under review and will not be offered in 2005.

New Generations Program: Future Collaborations

These g eographically unrestricted travel grants ended with the Summer/Fall cycle of Round 10.  No further grants will be awarded.

TCG/MetLife Foundation Extended Collaboration Grant

This program ended with the Fall 2004 round. No further grants will be awarded.

TCG Observership Program

Travel stipends for key staff at TCG's Member Theatres.

TCG/ITI Travel Grants

Travel grants awarded to U.S. theatre professionals and institutions to strengthen relationships with Russia and Eastern and Central Europe.

National Theatre Artist Residency Program

2002 marked the 10th and final round of the National Theatre Artist Residency Program, which supported more than 120 new and extended relationships between theatres and individual artists by augmenting the resources available for long-term artist residencies.
