"In this production, I wanted to capture the heightened Baroque drama in a non-conventional musical language. Even though, visually, the designers placed the play in the 18th century, I kept having images of a '60s icon: the rock guitarist as a super-dramatic persona. What I tried to do in this soundscape was to marry elements of the Baroque and '60s and '70s rock music (hence the harpsicord and the stratocaster)." —Scott Killian
