FIELD LETTER
Teresa starts out the September Field Letter with a recap of her recent trip to Colombia, where she attended a conference sponsored by the Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics. She goes on to discuss recent happenings at the national level, including Rocco Landesman's confirmation and how new national service initiatives are interacting with the arts community. Finally, she reminds us of the power of collaboration and cooperation by reviewing some recent parternships between TCG and other national arts service organizations.
Monthly Mental Health Moment
When you get a bunch of theatre-folk in a room, you can usually count on at least a handful who have worked in the box office. It’s a badge of honor, really. As utterly critical as the box office is to the functioning of a theatre, it can often be a thankless and frustrating job. Comedian Michael Cyril Creighton is raising awareness on behalf of ticket agents everywhere with his YouTube series Jack in a Box. In Episode 1, Jack suffers the indignity of having to read a detailed plot summary of Bros of Desire to a potential patron. Share your own box office stories with us on our Facebook page!
