Statement		 We are a contemporary theatre of exciting, challenging ideas, of impassioned audiences and remarkable artistry; a theatre that reflects on and honors the past, and looks ahead with commitment and curiosity to the future. We remain committed to entertaining you with the dazzling fun of this great artistic form, and to the important contemporary adventure of exploring the immense uncharted waters that await the human culture and our planet in the days and years to come. As a Seattle artist who has had the privilege of making theatre for you for over thirty years, I have never felt more emboldened, more excited, and freer in the service of the wonderful cultural life of our city, of you our extraordinary audience, and of the art form itself. I hope you will share in our excitement about the plays for 2005 and the extraordinary gifts of the actors and designers who grace our stages, and join us for a year of great stories that will make you laugh, make you think, make you feel, and give you hope. Theatre remains one of the few places left for communities to meet and share in the great issues and conversations that will help us create a safer, compassionate, and more intelligent and joyful world. The dialogue begins here, through the medium of art, and our participation in it together remains essential and deeply pleasurable.
