Salary Survey

TCG's annual survey of compensation levels within the field gathers information on the salary range and average for over 70 job titles that are common among not-for-profit theatres, from artistic director to box office manager. The survey also tracks average production fees paid to guest artists; average weekly wages for both union and non-union actors and stage managers; and average hourly wages for both union and non-union production personnel.

While the Salary Survey is completely voluntary, we urge member theatres to participate. This survey is conducted as a service to our members, with the intent of aiding artistic and managing directors in planning, budgeting and making critical personnel decisions.

Please note: Participation in the Salary Survey is restricted to TCG Member Theatres.

 

Confidentiality and Availability of Results:

We recognize and honor the confidentiality of the salary information provided to us by our member theatres. As such, Salary Survey data is not published online and is made available each year exclusively to that year’s participating member theatres, through the managing leader.

Managing leaders of theatres that participate in Salary Survey 2014 will receive a full summary results report, as well as the opportunity to request custom reports throughout the year, via written request. Data can be broken down by budget range, geographic region and other criteria for easy comparison.
