{Art | People}   {Survive | Thrive}   {Theatre | Technology}   {Conflict | Confluence}

How are relationships changing between theatres and communities?

How can we move our financial practices from surviving to thriving?

How can the live arts better engage with our digital culture?

How can we have productive conversations about difference?

From June 19-21, 2014, in San Diego, the 24th TCG National Conference: Crossing Borders lived up to its title in literal fashion when our dual Pre-Conferences crossed our national border into Tijuana, Mexico. However, that boundary-defying spirit was present through every aspect of our programming. At each step, we challenged assumptions and dismantled barriers to strengthen our field's vitality. The TCG National Conference is always an opportunity to see old friends, make new connections and engage in frank discussions with peers and expert presenters—all of whom joined us in 2014 for model sharing, knowledge exchange and a journey across our many borders.

Building on the success of the programmatic arcs from our 2013 TCG National Conference: Learn Do Teach in Dallas, we focused our energies into four main areas of exploration. To make these arcs even more intentional and impactful, we centered them around key questions to ensure our border-crossing goals were present in every session. We also integrated our core values of Artistry and Diversity & Inclusion into every aspect of our programming. Learn more about our programmatic arcs and other new Conference elements, like our new take on affinity groups.
