The plays in this volume range from theatre for young audiences to mature adult themes, contain cast sizes from two to five, and several have been produced and expanded into full-length works. Developed in an environment for exploration, vision, and freedom from the constraints of community or self-censorship, these short plays, in the many dialects of the Black voice, highlight the talent of some of Canada’s brightest emerging playwrights.
